Just minutes away from Virac City, you will find a very nice little beach called Talisoy Beach. It's managed by a barangay called Talisoy to generate some extra income. That's why there's an entrance fee of 50 PHP (0.88 USD), and cottages are also available for rent. According to the locals, the beach was originally called Tampad Beach, but regionally it is now known as Talisoy Beach. Other names used for this beach are 'Talisoy Cove' or 'Jesus Face Beach'. The image below shows quite well why they also call it 'Jesus Face Beach'.
Filipinos are in general magical thinkers and hold a special meaning to different types of rock structures around the country; but with this one it's real easy to see the resemblance. If you're traveling the Philippines long enough, you will encounter such rock formations (that are in the shape of holy figures or scenes) multiple times. Whether you believe or not, it's cool to see that from the beach, it looks like the head of Jesus, while from other angles it does not.
As you can see in the following photos, Talisoy Beach is extremely well kept and clean. It also features fine coral sand and clear, calm waters. Even though its seabed is a little rocky (tip: buy aqua shoes), Talisoy Beach is a great little cove to just hang around in the water at. Also, most of the time, it will not be busy at all; making it a nice, quiet beach to spend the day at.
As you can see in the following drone photos, Talisoy Beach is a small beach, and part of several coves decorating Catanduanes' rocky coastline.
